Zinc-Nickel Plating

Karas were one of the first finishers to supply zinc nickel plating to the manufacturing industry and have now developed one of the best facilities in the UK. We have invested in the latest process monitoring and control technology.

We have responded to the market demand for high quality zinc nickel plating based on a much faster turn round time than currently available. Our advanced process control measures allow us to maintain excellent consistency of all our zinc nickel plated finishes. The plant is specifically designed to “get it right first time” with vastly reduced lead times.

Our large capacity allows us to speed up turn round and lower our plating costs. We operate a very accurate pricing model to ensure that our quotes are consistently competitive.

We supply zinc-nickel as a highly protective coating to a wide variety of manufacturers including the automotive and rail sectors. This coating is tri-valent passivated and post treated with various seals and/or lubricants. Corrosion resistance from this process compares very favourably to cobalt zinc and in particular zinc & yellow passivate. Up to 1,000 hours of salt spray corrosion resistance can be achieved. Karas also use the latest x-ray technology in controlling this process.

  • Rack plating line with overhead lifting to 500kg
  • 15″ barrel plating line
  • Various post treatment with passivates, seals, lubricants and de-embrittlement
